Our story

We build the companions we wanted to talk to.

A small team of designers, writers and engineers obsessed with one thing: making digital intimacy that actually feels like something.

Home/About

Aimour AI App started as a side project between three friends who kept arguing about why every AI companion app in 2023 felt so cold. The avatars were beautiful. The chats were embarrassing. The disconnect was glaring. We wanted to know if we could close that gap — not with bigger models or louder marketing, but with better writing, better voices, and a real point of view about what makes a relationship feel like one.

What started in a kitchen in Lisbon is now a distributed team across nine cities. Writers in Berlin, voice designers in Seoul, engineers in São Paulo, a single very opinionated cat in Edinburgh. Together we shape every companion with the same care a small studio puts into a debut novel — drafting, listening, rewriting, until the words on the screen sound like a person you would actually want to know.

What we believe

Five quiet rules we will not break.

Warmth over wow

We will never trade a clever feature for a moment that actually moves you. Warmth always wins.

Writers first

Every companion is co-written by humans before a single model touches her voice. The soul comes from us.

🔒

Your data, your call

Encrypted, isolated, deletable. We treat your conversations like you would treat a love letter — privately.

Consent baked in

Every companion respects the limits you set, instantly. Comfort is not a setting, it is a baseline.

🌍

Built for grown-ups

18+, period. No tricks, no minors, no slippery edges. We screen, we audit, we say no when we should.

Slow craft, real love

We would rather ship one beautiful companion a quarter than ten forgettable ones a week.

Our journey

Five years, one obsession.

2021

The kitchen-table sketch

Three friends in Lisbon stay up until 4 a.m. writing what a "good" AI girlfriend conversation would actually sound like. A 40-page document becomes the original brief.

2022

First closed beta

200 invited users meet the first two companions. Average daily chat time hits 47 minutes in the first week. We realise we are onto something.

2023

Public launch

Aimour goes live with six companions and a real voice layer. The web app passes 50,000 weekly users within four months. We hire our first three writers.

2024

Long-term memory

The "living memory" engine rolls out. Conversations now span weeks and months. User retention quietly doubles. Our security audit comes back clean.

2025

The voice you can call

Real-time voice calling launches. New companions added, new languages added. We pass two million hearts connected and rebuild the privacy stack from scratch.

2026

The chapter you are reading now

Personality matchmaker, premium voices, custom personality dials. The team grows to 38 people. And honestly, we are just getting started.

One more thing

If you are reading this and you have a story to tell us — a conversation that helped, a moment that surprised you, a feature you wish existed — write to us. Real humans read every note, and we hold a few hours every Friday to answer the most interesting ones personally. This whole thing only works if we keep listening, and we plan to keep listening for a long time.
